Providing free saplings & organic kitchen garden kits to SHGs for an environmental awareness campaign.

Vision Foundation conduct Global warming through afforestation activities toward sustainable living. Women SHG members and school students are preparing the Nursery raising. Nearly 100 saplings were created and villages, school compounds, panchayat offices, community gardens and various places planting trees in fruits viz, Maa, Supporta, Kova, Mathulai, Goak fuits etc. Forest & Agricultural department personnel provide the technical support.

Provided Skill training on preparation of Vermicompost to SHGs

As per NABARD guidelines, we are conducting orientation training on vermicomposting for mature SHG members in T. Kallupatti constituency. For this, representatives of Farm Livelihood Department, Panchayat Level Federation and members of mature SHGs are actively participating in this meeting. Therefore, we are confident that vermicomposting will be successfully implemented and 100% credit linkage will be possible in the future.

Establish organic vegetable garden used by community vermicompost

Today many people are leaving agriculture because they are facing huge losses. The reason is that they use chemical fertilizers and pesticides. This practice has turned their potential land into wasteland. The only solution is to retain farmers and promote organic farming methods. Therefore, with the support of our women self-help groups, we have taken up the challenge of promoting organic farming among women farmers. With the support of seed money provided by OSSTF, Canada, organic farmers are becoming self-sufficient through production and marketing activities by setting up a community organic vegetable garden and vermicompost pit.

Training cum Vermicompost production and marketing

With the USA, Giving Joy grant, the Foundation will provide vocational training in vermicomposting to women previously engaged in manual scavenging. This project offers an alternative employment opportunity, through production, marketing and sales of vermicompost with income necessary for a dignified and healthy life. A revolving seed money fund will help set up vermicomposting units, generating income and sustainable livelihoods. As loans are repaid, new beneficiaries will be funded.
